Miniature ancestral portrait gallery, including the granddaughter Domino Flint Wood, daughter India Hicks, sister Lady Patricia Knatchbull, 2nd Countess Mountbatten of Burma, (1924-2017, Kent, England), mother Lady Edwina Mountbatten (née Ashley, 1900-1960, Jesselton, Borneo), Grandmother Princess Victoria of Hesse and by Rhine, later Victoria Mountbatten, Marchioness of Milford Haven (1863-1950, Kensington Palace, London, England) and her grandmother’s grandmother Queen Victoria (1819-1901, Kensington Palace, London, England).

In 2021, 2022 and 2023 I worked on over 30 portrait commissions for Danielle Steel and was invited to meet her personally in Paris summer 2023. She is an amazing person and client. For privacy and safety reasons the portraits of her vast family are not exposed here on my website. I, however have the permission to share a few favorites of her pets.

Merab Berdzenishvili (1929-2016, Tiflis) has been a leading Georgian contemporary sculptor. During his lifetime Berdzenishvili was awarded the most prestigious sculpture prizes, including the Shota Rustaveli Prize, USSR State Prize and many more. David Gvasalia (born 2001, Tiflis) is a Georgian Athlet and three time Georgian, National Youth Boxer Champion. In the life-size portrait Berdzenishvili poses with David after the young man has won his third National Championship in a row.

As a direct student of Dr. Kong Bohua, one of the “Four Great Beijing Masters”, Dr. Song devoted his life to the investigation of the full breadth and depth of Chinese medicine, maintaining his regular clinical practice at the Beijing Pediatric Hospital well into his 90’s. He was recognized as one of the “Hundred Great Chinese Medical Physicians” in 1990 and as a national living treasure by the Ministry of Health for his lifetime contribution to patient care and clinical education before his passing in 2018. He is remembered by his students and colleagues as a true embodiment of Sun Simiao’s Spirit of the Great PhysicianMay 2021 . (Text by Bryan Mahony)
